Challenge

Recently at Basement Systems Toronto, we were presented with a challenge from a homeowner in Pickering, ON. They were troubled by a persistent odor coming from their crawl space and had several broken ducts in need of repair. Unsure of how to address these issues and seeking to improve their home's overall air quality, the homeowner reached out to us for a solution.

Solution

Our process started with a comprehensive consultation, and our Customer Care team quickly scheduled a home inspection. Upon arrival, our System Design Specialist thoroughly examined the crawl space, identifying the source of the odor and evaluating the broken ducts. We recommended installing the CleanSpace system to insulate and protect the crawl space from moisture, mold, and pests, along with an EverLast™ door to create a durable, airtight seal against external conditions.

With a clear plan, our production team began by repairing the broken ducts to restore the efficiency of the home’s heating and cooling systems. We then encapsulated the crawl space with the CleanSpace system, creating a clean, dry, and energy-efficient environment. To enhance protection further, we installed an EverLast™ door, made from long-lasting PVC plastic that resists warping and cracking, ensuring the crawl space remained sealed from outside elements.

The transformation was remarkable. The homeowner no longer had to worry about odors or the state of their crawl space, gaining peace of mind knowing it was now a sealed, clean, and durable part of their home, ready to endure for years to come.
