Crawl space moisture problems in Oro-Medonte, Ontario
Challenge
Recently, our team at Basement Systems Toronto faced a unique challenge in Oro-Medonte, Ontario. A homeowner reached out with concerns about the crawl space they shared with the adjoining duplex. Despite having recently redone the foundations, they were still dealing with a significant moisture problem and poor air circulation, raising the risk of mold development. None of the residences had a dehumidifier installed, and the homeowner wondered if encapsulation might be the solution for their approximate 3-foot high crawl space.
Solution
After receiving the call, we promptly scheduled a home inspection to assess the situation. Our System Design Specialist conducted a thorough inspection of the interconnected crawl spaces under both duplexes. It was determined that the best course of action would involve encapsulating the space and improving air quality and moisture control.
We proposed installing our CleanSpace encapsulation system along with the SaniDry Sedona, a highly efficient dehumidifying system. The encapsulation would seal off the area from the dirt floor, preventing further moisture issues, while the SaniDry Sedona would effectively manage circulation and humidity concerns.
Our production team, led by an expert foreman, meticulously transformed the problematic crawl space. They carefully installed the CleanSpace system, covering every inch to ensure complete encapsulation. Following this, the SaniDry Sedona system was set up to maintain optimal air quality and moisture control.
The results were dramatic. The project not only resolved the existing moisture problem but also fortified the foundations against potential mold, ensuring a healthier and more stable environment for the homeowners.
